During the events of Super Mario RPG: LOTSS, the Star Road is what it is that you are trying to repair the whole time. When Exor crashed into Bowser's Keep, it first passed through and shattered the Star Road sending out seven star-shaped pieces to land across the world. With these pieces of the Star Road lost, the Star Road had lost it's power and no more wishes were able to be granted. So it was that Geno was sent to recover all seven star pieces and defeat Smithy so that the Star Road could be repaired and so that wishes could once again be granted.

Layout
|
Along the bottom of the stage is a tan rectangular platform that is about the size of Final Destination. Up above that platform there are seven other platforms of which they are all star in shape and colored to the same shade as one of the seven star pieces in SMRPG: LOTSS. The platforms are positioned so that the purple star platform is directly in the middle of the main platform yet is above it by about 1 Ganondorf. Above that by a half Ganondorf is the yellow star platform. And another half Ganondorf above that is the light blue star platform. To the far left of the stage the dark blue star platform is positioned 1.25x Ganondorfs in the air. And then a half Ganondorf above that is the red star platform. To the far right of the main platform floats the orange star platform which lies 1.25x Ganondorfs in the air. Then a half Ganondorf higher than that lies the green star platform. Each of these star platforms is approx. 1/4th the size of the main platform at the bottom of the screen and they also sparkle a little bit when someone or something falls onto them. The background will show you a few events seen in SMRPG: LOTSS such as the Snifits running up Booster Hill in hunt of some beetles, Mallow crying up a rainstorm in the Mushroom Kingdom as well as the mine cart chase in Moleville. You can also see bits of the parade seen at the end of the game as well as some intergalactic travel with your host, the star spirit form of Geno as your guide.
