Mario's Pad is the first place that we see where Mario actually lives. Not much time is spent there in-game, but it is there that Mario crashes after fighting Bowser at the beginning of the game, and it is there that Toad finds Mario and asks him to save the princess yet again.

On the left end of the stage a floating save block floats above the ground, going up and down at about the same speed they do in SMRPG. The Save Block can be used as a platform. On the right you see Mario's House, which can be used as a platform as well. The rest of the stage is flat.
