Wario's Gold Mine
Updated - September 10, 2009

Wario's Gold Mine is a racecourse in Mario Kart Wii. This course features steep declines and sharp turns and lends itself to the frantic, roller coaster game play of Wario Colosseum from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Segments of the track lack siding to allow players to unintentionally fall off. Additionally, this course employs Boost Pads. Swoopers may slow down the players if they run into them. During the climactic segments of the race, Minecarts appear with Wario's signature dark purple "W" on them to give the player a few intended obstacles as they reach the finish line.

There is a shortcut in this course, visible in the pre-course introduction. To use the shortcut, the player must not use the normal way during the section with the minecarts. They must follow the minecarts into a small tunnel with two dash panels. To exit the tunnel, he/she must follow it until the player reaches the exit of the cave, which in turn is the exit of the entire mine.

Layout
Wario's Gold Mine is a very dangerous stage, due to the low amount of suitable places to fight. At the very top left, a wooden platform attached to a cliff face serves as a small rest area, as well as the platform below it. In the bottom right, a large slope that starts flat, and curves down to the K.O. zone is avaliable to fight on. A sign that shows a picture of Wario and the words "Wario's Gold Mine" is in the background of the very top of the hill. The pipes in the middle of the stage serve as helpers and temporary platforms, as they can shoot steam that bounces players high into the air. Swoopers can also appear out of the pipes. There are 3 pipes, and in goes from left to right, middle size, small size, tallest size.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Pipes The pipes are a blessing, and a burden. When they aren't shooting steam, they become small, temporary platforms. When they do shoot steam, they can launch players into the air, and do about 1%. However, this still is a useful thing. Swoopers can sometimes come out of the pipes in place of steam, making pipes not always the best thing to rely on. Swoopers do about 3% each.
Hazard #2: Minecarts The top of the hill is one of the best places to fight on the stage, but, like the rest of the stage, isn't safe. Minecarts can come rushing in from the background, much akin to the Shy Guys in the Mario Circuit stage from Brawl. Each Minecart can do about 10-15% damage, but they are easy to see coming.
