Koopa Troopa Beach
Updated - February 15, 2010

Koopa Troopa Beach is the third race course in the Mushroom Cup of Mario Kart 64. It is most likely named after the Koopa Troopa rock formation seen when the race begins. The track is the first in the game Mario Kart 64 to feature an explicit shortcut available without the use of an item.

General Information
Origin: Mario Kart 64 Location: Mushroom Kingdom
Release Date: December 14, 1996 Home Stage of: Koopa Troopa
Layout
The stage’s layout is similar to that seen in the picture. To the left, there is good sized area of flat ground, along the beach. Sidesteppers like to crawl up from the ocean here. Then, there is the rock shaped like a Koopa Troopa. This rock is about as tall as Giga Bowser, from the head to the ground. And then from there, there is a small bit of slanted rock before it slants upwards and the rock continues along the KO border. Falling in the water on the stage is an instant KO.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Sidesteppers These crabs will climb up out of the ocean and walk around the sandy beach part of the stage. They can be made dizzy, so that you can pick them up and throw them. Tossing them back in the ocean gets rid of them. Touching them causes you to suffer 4% damage.
