Death Mountain is a recurring location in the Legend of Zelda series. A huge mountain or mountain range that is typically the highest geographical point of Hyrule, Death Mountain has become synonymous with the series, and serves as the homeland of the proud Goron race in certain games. Occasionally, entry to Death Mountain is restricted; one must receive permission from the Royal Family of Hyrule to enter the mighty mountain. It is generally believed that the name Death Mountain is used for many different mountains in the series, but because some of its appearances share certain geographical or topographical similarities, some Death Mountains are believed to be one and the same.

Layout
The stage is on a slant, and has no lower KO ground, so side KOs are necessary. There are multiple platforms made of rock that stretch out from the ground, and sometimes, small rocks can be found on the ground, which serve as items. The platforms are arranged almost randomly, because a Goron on top of ledge which likes to smash the ground and cause different parts of rock to fall out, and for others to jut out. Many dangers await players on this stage, so be careful.

Hazards
Hazard #1:
Boulders |
Sometimes, a Dodongo will appear off-screen, to the far right, and stomp, causing quite a bit of shaking before some Bowser-sized rocks come rolling from the right. If you touch them, you’ll take 10%, so be careful.
Hazard #2:
Tektites |
Tektites occasionally decide to join the battle by jumping off of the ledge that the Goron stands on. Tektites will bounce around, dealing 5% to anyone who touches them, plus some slight knockback. They’re pretty weak, though, so a few hits ought to destroy it. When destroyed, its pieces fly into the air, and then burn up with blue fire.
Hazard #3:
Goron |
The Goron on top of the ledge really doesn’t help one bit, as he’ll jump up a down every once and a while, causing the rocky platforms to jut out of the wall, and others to fall, making the platforms above the stage to change as play progresses.
Hazard #4:
Platforms |
The rocky platforms that are above the main slanted fighting ground can break, and new ones can form when the Goron does his ground pound attack. The falling ones will deal about 13% damage if they hit you. Also, sometimes they leave behind Bob-omb sized rocks that you can pick up and throw at other players.
