Bowser's Castle
Updated - February 5, 2010

Bowser's Castle (also known as Bowser's Keep in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Bowser Castle in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story or Castle Koopa in the Mario TV series) is King Bowser's home and the base of operations for the Koopa Troop. Bowser has a variety of different castles throughout the Mushroom World, each of which usually functions as an important base from which the Koopa King formulates his evil plans. Bowser's Castle is usually the final area that Mario visits to rescue Princess Peach, and is usually guarded by Bowser's most powerful minions.

Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo)
Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)
Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (Nintendo DS)
General Information
Origin: Super Mario Bros. Location: Dark Land
Release Date: September 13, 1985 Home Stage of: Bowser
Layout
The stage’s layout is almost exactly like it is shown in the picture, except on a flat view and not a bird’s eye view. Also, the castle wall is farther apart, and everything is generally resized. Also, on the platform in the background, a group of Bowser’s minions are there, from Goombas to Lakitus. Sometimes they’ll try to throw things at the players, but the things they throw just wind up in the lava. Also, crows fly around outside of the castle.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Fire Bar As you can see from the picture, a Fire Bar is on the stage. The Fire Bar acts just as it does in the original Super Mario Bros. It rotates around, occasionally disappearing into the ground as it rotates around and around. If you touch it, you’ll suffer 5% damage.
Hazard #2: Thwomp The Thwomp on the stage isn’t exactly friendly, and he’ll mash you to bits if you walk under him. You can use him as a platform, and he’ll try to crush you even if you are standing on him. If you get crushed, you suffer 15% damage, but no knockback, as you’ll simply be squished down, but able to move around.
Hazard #3: Rocket Jet Similar to the rocket jets on the Airship Fleet stage, the rocket jet on the stage will go off every once and a while and burn players. The fire from the jet is about as large as Bowser and one Kirby. It deals about 7% damage.
Hazard #4: Doors The doors act as warp points, which you can walk in, and appear in a the other door on the top floor and vice versa. Also, False Bowsers will appear out of the red boss door, and spit fires just like how the original Bowsers attacked. You can kill them, similar to the Birdos from the Mushroom Kingdom II stage from Melee. Or, they'll retreat after firing five fireballs.
