Melty Molten Galaxy
Updated - February 9, 2009

The Melty Molten Galaxy is a galaxy hidden in the very last area of the Comet Observatory Mario can access: the Garden. It is also the final galaxy with multiple stars contained within that Mario can access on his quest. The Melty Molten Galaxy is covered in lava as far as the eye can see, with multiple metallic platforms. The galaxy is home to several small suns and many, many Burn Bits. It also contains a rolling ball segment - the only "mini-game" like challenge used outside of a galaxy specifically designed around said game. In the center of the galaxy, the monstrous reincarnation of Dino Piranha, named Firey Dino Piranha, can be found.

General Information

Layout
Players begin on a large lava spire. The spire stretches high above, almost to the height of Hyrule Temple. However, the stage is only about the width of icicle mountain. There are multiple gaps in between rocky platforms that seem to stretch up the spire in an almost random fashion. Some of the platforms move in and out of the background at a set rate, each one about the size of Bowser. Some of these platforms are necessary to get up correctly to ascend to higher levels of the spire.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Lava Lava constantly surrounds the spire of the Melty Molten Galaxy from all sides. Any direct contact with the lava will result in a decent deal of damage with high knockback. Every time lava is hit in succession, the damage the molten substance deals increases. Occasionally, the entire spire will begin to shake, and lava will begin moving up the spire. Fighters must quickly ascend the spire in order to prevent being burnt. If a fighter is trapped between rising lava and a stone platform, it will count as a drowning in lava. In addition, toward the top of the spire are large spheres of lava. Each sphere is about the size of Palkia and can deal around 15-20% damage on impact with great knockback.
Hazard #2: Geysers There are multiple geysers positioned upon the spire. Quite often, these geysers will release a jet of heat onto the stage that is about the size of Pichu. Any character struck by this heat jet will take 9% damage with minor knockback. Each geyser only shoots out its jet of steam for a second. Before releasing a jet of heat, steam will come out of where a geyser is positioned for two seconds.
Hazard #3: Burn-Bits Several Podoboo-like creatures will occasionally jump out of the lava and float toward players. Fighters must defeat the Burn Bits with an attack that deals more than 10% damage. If a Burn Bit comes in contact with a fighter, or is hit by a physical attack that deals less than 10% damage, it will deal 11% damage with modest knockback. If a Burn Bit is hit by an attack that deals more than 10%, it will revert back to a simple rock. That rock will then slowly hop toward the pools of lava on the stage. If it comes in contact with either the lava or an attack that deals fire damage, the Burn Bit will reignite. If it is attacked while it is moving by a non-fire strike, it will burst into multiple pieces. There cannot be more than three Burn Bits on the screen at once. Burn Bits move at about Mewtwo's running speed and hop once every second by Donkey Kong's body length.
