The Riven Bridge, otherwise known as the Great Bridge, is what connects the two countries Daein and Crimea to one another. During the course of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Ike and company fight their way across the bridge, killing Petrine, one of then-rebellious Daein's new Four Riders, the others being Bryce, the only remaining member of the original Four Riders of Daein, brainwashed Bertram, truly Lord Renning of Crimea and the uncle of Princess Elincia, as proven by Bastian through the course of the sequel to Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and the enigmatic Black Knight, legendary swordsman and killer of Greil, also known as Gawain, one of the original Four Riders and father to Ike and Mist, leader of the rebellious Greil Mercenaries, on the way. Eventually, Ike successfully maneuvers his army across the bridge, despite its surprise pitfalls, and makes it back into Crimea unscathed, where they then commence into battle with General Rikard and his troops.

The bridge is set-up nearly exactly the same way as the Bridge of Eldin is in Super Smash Bros. Brawly, probably on account of the fact that they're both large bridges which the main character must get across to progress their respective games, though the difference is, aside from the clear cosmetic change, with forests and rivers and the like abound, is that the bridge actually does have its end on either side with this stage, and players may also fight near the edges of the watch-fortresses of both the Crimean and Daein sides of the border, which are stuck in the background. Aside from this, though, the only other major difference is the fact that the Great Bridge is a tad shorter than the Bridge of Eldin... and its hazards are entirely different.

Hazard #1:
|
Pit |
Every once in a while, slightly dissimilar to how the mechanics work in Path of Radiance, players may come across some loose tile on the bridge and, if they remain on the tile for more than a mere split second (the controller will rumble, or an exclamation mark akin to the marks given to players when playing with a Wavebird controller in games like the Gamecube Mario Party games, should rumble not be enabled), the floor will sink beneath their feet, and they'll be grounded into the earth in the exact same way Animal Crossing's Pitfall item would work on them. Eventually, within a couple of moment's time, though, they will be set free. It's those few moments of helplessness that opponents could take advantage of, should they not get stuck in one themselves. Other than the occasional trap pit, however, the Great Bridge is a generally neutral stage.
