Kauku Caves

The Kauku Caves is a place similar to Neleras Peak in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones because there are tiles where characters take damage if they spend an entire turn on one such tile. Among beorc and laguz alike, this place is regarded as being a surefire place to kill masses of people of either species, without a fight, although experienced players can avoid taking nearly any damage from the caves. It is a three-way maze, where one end is in Serenes, another end in Gallia and the last end is in Goldoa; and due to being on the edge of Goldoa the caves are volcanic and filled with magma. Zelgius opposed sending his men through them because he feared it was a waste of manpower.
It is also known to be the final resting place of General Septimus.

Layout
|
The Kauku Caves is fairly simple as far as it's overall layout goes. Aside from the red spots in the ground that will swell up every 50 seconds or so in opposite intervals, the stage stays completely flat; length-wise about the size two Brawl Final Destinations. Like with a few other stages, the real awe-inspiring stuff happens in the dazzling fiery background of it. There's large, brown boulders with lava pouring out slowly from their tips into small pools that lay and grow slowly across the perimeter of the background. Every once in a while, a geyser in the back will shoot out a ton of steam, followed by some lava. None of this lava will enter the foreground, luckily enough for the opponents already fighting right above the two to four geysers that are randomly placed here and there and go off, once again, every 50 seconds or so. You may even see a straggling soldier in the background! Although he could very well be swallowed up by the geyser's explosion, so it may be better to just not pay much attention to him. He can certainly escape, but chances are he'll go down one path and realize he has to go back into the caves in order to get to another exit. He has three chances to get out, and three chances to die. It's quite a dicey game, truly.

Hazards

Hazard #1:
|
Geyser |
Every 50 seconds, parts of the ground will start to heat up and swell bright red and orange. When you see this happen and your feet are right under the geyser, you better move, lest you be swallowed up by a huge out-pouring of lava that will swallow you whole! This'll deal about 3% damage per half-second, making it a pretty hazardous thing. It can last for up to 5 seconds, leaving for a potential 15% damage total if you get stuck in it.
