Honey Hive Galaxy
Updated - February 9, 2009

Bee Hive Galaxy is home to a race of highly intelligent bees that, like all bee colonies, revolve around its great, majestic, and absolutely HUGE queen and is initially the second galaxy Mario visits in his adventure through space. The bees' arch-enemies are the mandibugs, a race of not-so-intelligent creatures that resemble robotic beetles with huge pincers that can be killed by stomping on their hard outer shell.

As should be, Bee Hive Galaxy is the first place in Super Mario Galaxy where Mario can transform into Bee Mario ala Bee Mushroom. In Bee Form, Mario can fly upwards for a specified amount of time and climb around on honey. The only thing standing in his way of staying a bee is water. When Mario touches water, he will transform back into regular, ol' plumber Mario.

The stage Bee Hive Galaxy switches between day and night.

Bee Hive Galaxy is actually a pretty straightforward stage when it comes to layout. There is a pool of water to the left side of the stage that players can splash around in too.
