Comet Observatory is the main HUB of Super Mario Galaxy, featuring six observatory domes where Mario could blast off to several different galaxies. Rosalina and the Luma call the Comet Observatory home.

The Comet Observatory acts much like Delfino Plaza did in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with floating platforms that transport fighters around different areas of the Observatory. The layout of the floating platforms is always the same, unlike in Delfino Plaza. One, moderate sized flat platform with one miniature platform moving back and forth above it.
The platform brings players to the following areas in the following order: Main Bridge (the one where Rosalina stands in Super Mario Galaxy), the Terrace, the Fountain, the Kitchen, the Bedroom, the Engine Room, and the Garden. Each area is laid out exactly like they were in Super Mario Galaxy.
