Mole Train
Updated - March 5, 2011

The Mole Train is the fourth boss in the game Donkey Kong Country Returns. It's a giant mechanized drill train led by Mole Miner Max and his army of Mole Miners. It is the boss of the Cave area. The Mole Miners are seen putting bananas from Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong's Banana Hoard into carts. However, the Banjo Tiki hypnotizes Mole Miner Max, who proceeds to start the train. You then have to defeat Max and his fellow Mole Miners.

Layout
The stage is on the train's banana carts. The stage is aerial,so characters have to stay on these carts or they will fall to their doom (they can't be sent upward due to stalactites). The train will go in a horizontal path for fifty seconds or so. Then, after a while, the train will slowly go upward (which will cause the characters to be pulled down slightly). Then the train will go quickly (which the character can "hover" in the air and it takes a while for a character to come back down if they jump). It then goes back to its original, horizontal state. It then either leads to hazard phases or it will go upward and downward again (or vice versa).
Hazards
Hazard #1: Mole Miner Max Mole Miner Max won't bother for the first few minutes, but later he will turn towards you, shake his fists, and throw a couple pickaxes. These cause about 7% to 15% depending on range.
Hazard #2: Mole Miners This is one "hazard phase". At one point, there will be rustling in the bananas and Mole Miners will pop their heads out, one by one. If they hit directly under you, they cause 9% damage, otherwise they cause 3% damage. They can be knocked off if you attack them while their heads are still exposed.
Hazard #3: Squeeklies Another "hazard phase", you can see them sleeping peacefully for a few seconds until Max blows his train whistle, awakening them. First, little squeeklies fly horizontally above the train hopin someone will hit them. They cause 7% percent damage if bump into them, and, unlike Mole Miners, cannot be defeated. After the last little squeeklies leave, bigger squeeklies come. Unlike the little squeeklies, they fly up and down, attempting to hit you. They cause 11% damage. Finally, a ginormous squeeklie pursues the train, screeching sound-waves towards the train. Being hit by a sound-wave causes 18% damage. The mole train at somepoint jumps over a thick stalagmite, which the huge squeeklie whacks against. The train stays in the air for about ten seconds, and then it goes back on the tracks.
