Phendrana Drifts
Updated - March 22, 2010
Located at the southwestern edge of the explorable Tallon IV areas, the Phendrana Drifts are snowy and icy, with some parts filled with water. Major geographical features are a canyon, a lake, and several caves. A unique material can be found here called Frigidite, that is ice-like in appearance. The Drifts are relatively isolated, and can only be accessed from the Magmoor Caverns.

Layout
This stage takes place in the Phendrana Canyon area of the zone where Samus recovers her Speed Boost power-up. Four platforms are lined up across the stage over a seemingly bottomless pit in the area. The platforms are kept in the air by jets positioned on their underside, so they constantly hover up and down slightly.

Hazards
Hazard #1:
Additional Platforms |
A switch will occassionally appear on either the leftmost or rightmost platform which will cause three additional platforms to appear over top of the existing platforms. These platforms will remain in position for 15 seconds before floating away into the background.
Hazard #2:
Crystallite |
Crystallites will sometimes appear on random platforms and circle them slowly similar to the movements of a Hothead. Touching them will cause between 5%-9% damage and minor knockback, but their icy shells are very tough to destroy, so they'll likely stick around for a while.
