Good Egg Galaxy
Updated - February 04, 2009

The Good Egg Galaxy is the second galaxy Mario must venture to in Super Mario Galaxy. It is the first galaxy within the Terrace dome. It is a galaxy which, unlike many of the others in the game, does not have a set theme such as ice or fire. Rather, it mainly consists of multiple small planetoids and a variety of different themes that usually contradict each other. Because of this, it is arguably the most 'true' galaxy with a pure space theme. The galaxy starts on a planet with a garden and a house on top and a castle at the bottom. Dino Piranha and King Kaliente are fought in this galaxy.

General Information
Origin: Super Mario Galaxy Location: Outer Space
Release Date: November 1, 2007 Home Stage of: Mario
Layout
Players battle on the Yoshi Egg shaped planet pictured in the image, only in this stage, they do battle on all sides of the planet. The center of gravity is in the middle of the egg planet, so no matter what side of the planet the character is on they will always be standing on the planet's surface. Even when thrown or sent flying, characters will still follow this planet's laws of gravity and curve around the planet instead of being sent straight through the air. Also, there are no side or bottom borders, so every KO on this stage leads to a star KO.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Gravity The gravity on this stage is its one-way ticket to being a unique stage. Being on the bottom half of this stage would make players believe their left and right controls are reversed, since the character's left will appear to be the player's right and vise versa. Also, having four top borders and a center of gravity in the middle of the screen means players don't have to focus on recovering or edge guarding, they simply fall back to the surface of the planet.
Hazard #2: Electrogoomba This hazard is the only one that can actually cause any damage. Every once in a while a lone Electrogoomba will spawn at a random spot on the surface of the planet. Direct contact with the creature will result in a minor shock and cause a little damage, but the Electrogoomba can pretty easily be defeated with a few weak attacks or a smash attack.
