Forbidden Jungle
Updated - January 27, 2011

The Forbidden Jungle is one of the first areas Jak and Daxter visit. It has been overrun by Lurkers, which have set up many traps and a strange machine, powered by the Blue Eco beam coming from the temple (the beam is deflected with a mirror). If you climb up on to the machine you can smash the mirror allowing the beam to pass by. The beam will then reach a lens which can be aimed at a succession of other lenses scattered throughout the jungle, finishing at the windmill inside Sandover Village, thus restoring it's power source. The major tasks in the jungle are to defeat the Dark Eco Plant, gain access to the fisherman's boat and press the Blue Eco Vent Switch. In the new world there is not really an area that looks like the forbidden jungle, execpt in Jak X, when it returns as a racetrack.

A solitary, hovering platform will transport the fight between various sections of the jungle, stopping at the entrance of the jungle, the temple in the center, the strange power machine, and at the creek where Ollie is located.
The Entrance - At the entrance to the jungle, the players fight on either side of a gapping chasm in the center. Falling down the chasm will result in an SD. In the near background are trees that snakes will sometimes appear from as they hang down from their branches.
The Temple - The fight here takes place in front of the temple itself. The Plant Boss has also relocated to the front of the temp[le entrance and will serve as a hazard in this section of the stage. The terrain is competely flat here.
The Machine - The fight then takes place on top of the machine that delivers power to Sandover Village. The machine here can be destroyed in sections simply by attacking it. Causing the energy beam projecting from it to aim in different directions as it takes damage.
The Creek - At the creek, the fight continues on a bit of land with the creek in the center, covered by a small, wooden bridge. The bridge may collapse under too much weight, namely three or more competitors standing on it at once. Fish from the stream also are featured as a hazard.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Tree Snakes Tree Snakes will bite nearby players as they swing from the tree branches. They may also be quite easily defeated by attacking them however the combatant chooses. The Tree Snakes will attack for 4%-8% damage each bite.
Hazard #2: Plant Boss The Plant Boss will lash out using its leafy petals and thorny roots in front of the temple. The thorns on its roots may cause 5%-12% damage each strike while the petals may cause 3%-6% damage.
Hazard #3: Energy Beam The energy beam from the machine will cause the most damage of any hazard on the stage. Players caught in its powerful beam will suffer 10%-20% damage each second they stand in it.
Hazard #4: Fish Fish will occassionally jump from the small creek and nip at players as they fight. The fish will cause minor damage only however, and no knockback.
