Corneria City
Updated - May 7, 2009

Corneria is resembling the real-life earth. Corneria is home to 85% of the total sentient population of the Lylat system, but due to careful planning remains a verdant garden world. Its cities and industry were built with keeping in harmony with nature, allowing its rich ecosystem to flourish. It is the center of culture and government of the Lylat system, and is a prime target for those seeking conquest over the galaxy.

The porous, volcanic stone of Corneria has allowed for vast cave systems to form, which the Cornerians exploit to construct entire cities in these vast caverns. In times of trouble, Cornerians would seek refuge in these underground shelters and wait out the destructive fighting above.

Layout
This version of the Corneria stage takes place on land instead of on the Great Fox as in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl. Players fight on the streets of Corneria City in front of a row of futuristic-looking skyscrapers. On the left side of the stage are two tall, metallic tanks that can be knocked over if a player is sent flying into them hard enough, and on the right side of the stage is a tall building that extends halfway up the side of the stage. As an added effect, if players are thrown into this building, the windows will shatter and harmless bits of glass will fall to the street below. These panes of glass are quickly replaced however.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Metallic Tanks If a player is under the tanks on the left side of the stage they'll be flattened and take moderate damage. The tanks will disappear after 3 seconds and the player can then resume fighting. The tanks will respawn after 30 seconds.
Hazard #2: Arwing Crash An Arwing occasionally crashes into the street from the skies above and slams into the building on the right. If any players are in its way, they'll take heavy damage and knockback. Robots will arrive to clean the site up a minute after its collision. This event occurs about every 5 minutes.
