Chocobo Forest
Updated - May 11, 2010

The Chocobo Forest, also known as Chocobo Woods, is an area in most Final Fantasy games where the player can locate chocobos. The Chocobo Forest is just south of Kashuan, north of Palamecia, and is the only place in the game where Firion and his allies can find a Chocobo. This enables him to move overland much faster and not fight any battles.

The players fight on a floating island similar to the Battlefield stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The ground is made up of mostly dirt with a few grassy spots. Some tree branches serve as platforms as well on the left and right side of the stage as well as the top of a tree above the center.
Hazards
Hazard #1: Chocobo Bushes A few bushes appear along the main ground portion of the stage. Passing quickly in front of these bushes or attacking nearby them will cause Chocobo to fly out from behind them. They don't cause any damage unless they are struck, at which point they will become aggressive and counterstrike the player for 4%-10% damage and medium knockback.
Hazard #2: Chocobo Swarm After around every 2 minute interval, a swarm of about 10-20 Chocobo will rush across the stage, flying in from either the left or right side and swooping across all the platforms. These Chocobo can range from different species like Yellow Chocobo, Red Chocobo, Blue Chocobo, Black Chocobo, and Gold Chocobo. Each strike from one of these Chocobo can cause between 2%-8% damage, but the Gold ones can cause higher amounts, up to 15% damage.
