Clamperl
Updated - June 8, 2010

Native to Hoenn, Clamperls can be found deep in the ocean on Routes 124 and 126. Clamperls have a hard, thick blue shell that protects it's inner body consisting of a squishy blue body and a pink, pearl-like head. Clamperls have a unique evolution that relies on trading them while holding either the DeepSeaTooth or the DeepSeaScale which respectively will give you either Huntail or Gorebyss. Clamperls, unevolved, have a limited movelist making them of little value unless evolved.
General Information
Name: Clamperl Pokémon Number: #366
Pokémon Attack: Clamp Generation: 3rd
Attack Style: Physical Chance of Appearance: Uncommon
Attack Description
Clamperl will rest where it was summoned on the stage seeminly doing nothing. If an opponent or "walking item" such as Bob-omb, Hothead or Mr. Saturn cross Clamperl's path the Clamperl will clamp down on them and begin to damage them for 1-4% damage per second for every second that they are inside of Clamperl up to a maximum of 7 seconds. It is possible to escape from Clamperl by rapidly tilting the control stick back and forth based on how much damage the opponent currently has. If they have 0% damage they can get out with ease but if they have over 100% damage they may not escape until the last second. When the Clamperl releases the opponent it will open its shell up and spit out the opponent to the side. If the Clamperl clamped onto an item then it will explode internally in the case of items like Bob-omb and Hothead and then disappear or in the case of items like Mr. Saturn it will act as it if were a character and is damaging it but when the seven seconds are up both Clamperl and the item disappear. If nobody or nothing crosses Clamperl's path after 20 seconds the Clamperl will disappear. Clamperl is the same size as Kirby.
