Bulbasaur is a 1st Generation Grass/Poison type who also happens to be the player's choice for the Grass starter in Red and Blue (and their remakes, excluding Yellow). According to the Pokedex, a seed was planted on Bulbasaur's back at birth, causing the plant on its back to grow with the creature as it grows older. Bulbasaur's name is a combination of "bulb" and "saur," the Greek word for lizard.

Attack Description
When Bulbasaur emerges from its Pokeball, it will let out a brief cry and then lean forward and fire off three Leech Seeds from its back (going a maximum distance of a typical thrown weapon, not a smash throw however). If an opponent is hit by this attack, they will instantly gain an effect similar to the Lip's Stick item and will grow a flower on their head. This will deal damage similar to a fully charged strike from Lip's Stick...and will also heal the person who summoned Bulbasaur for the same %! This can heal a lot of damage if Bulbasaur's Leech Seed connects with multiple opponents.
