Magikarp is a commonly found Pokémon that can survive in rivers, lakes,and oceans. Despite its adaptability, the Pokédex states that the Magikarp species has grown weaker over time, and it is the least viable for battling in the series, although many consider Feebas a fierce competitor, the difference being Feebas can learn moves outside its immediate move pool. It eventually evolves into a much more powerful Pokémon, Gyarados.
