Once the Green Shell is picked up, one must throw it to cause damage. Depending on the power of the throw, the Green Shell will deal anywhere between 5% and 11% damage. It will keep on sliding after it hits opponents until it disappears or falls off of a ledge.
The Green Shell can also be jumped upon to make it slide, but it will deal somewhere between only 5% and 8% damage.
