Magnet Beam
Updated - February 20, 2011

The Magnet Beam is a special tool in MegaMan hidden in Elecman's stage. It requires the Guts Arm or Thunder Beam to remove the blocks so you can get to it. An invaluable tool, it fires a beam of light that creates an instant (though temporary) floating platform, so long as the battery holds out. The Magnet Beam is necessary to get past the Dr. Wily stages, so obtaining it is a must. It also helps out in areas where platforms are either scarce or hard to reach, making the Beam one of the more useful tools of the MegaMan series.

How It's Used
When picked up, the beam can be fired with the Special Attack button, producing a floating blue platform (the thin kind that can be jumped through) about two Kirbys wide in front of the battler using it. The Magnet Beam has enough of a charge for five shots (platforms), indicated by the five small lights on the device. When a shot is used, one of the lights go out. When the Magnet Beam is completely used up, it can be thrown at an opponent for 5% damage before disintegrating. The platforms themselves last about 8 seconds before flickering, warning that it's going to disappear momentarily, then vanishing at last another 2 seconds later.
