Red Watermelons are fiery watermelons in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. A Yoshi can eat this Fruit, and will allow him to shoot Fire briefly. It probably is because the watermelons are hot, however it is unknown if they are.

This item causes a status change instead of being used as a weapon. A character under the effect of the red watermelon they cannot walk, instead he/she always dashes. The flames from the watermelon are energy projectiles, making melon-affected players extremely susceptible to characters like Fox and Wolf who have excellent reflecting moves, or Ness and Lucas who can absorb attacks. It also makes being around explosives a bad idea.
