The Penguin Suit is an item in the game, New Super Mario Bros. Wii; as its name suggests, it is a suit that resembles a penguin. It allows the player to turn into their Penguin form, that has a blue or black body with short, colored trousers. The suit lets the player throw ice-like snowballs at enemies, freezing them; this not only prevents them from hurting the player, but the frozen enemies can also be used as platforms. Unlike Ice Mario's power in this same game, the ice around the frozen enemy break after a time, which makes weak enemies turn into Coins, but enemies such as a Piranha Plant nothing will happen. The Penguin Suit lets the player swim more efficiently underwater, and even slide on ice, breaking any blocks they collide with.

When in the Penguin suit, you can throw snowballs at people, freezing them. You also can't sink in water. The Suit has no effect after twenty minutes.
