Power Bombs are one of Samus's greatest weapons. They must be deployed via Morph Ball mode, from which they momentarily detonate, allowing for destruction of enemies within a surprisingly large radius. Also, in Metroid Fusion, the blast appears to cause a vacuum that can draw in ordinary X Parasites to the center of the blast. In Metroid: Zero Mission, Super Metroid, and Fusion, they are gained from Power Bomb Tanks, though in Fusion, the initial upgrade is sent by Data Room.
Works:
Super Metroid (Super Nintendo)
Metroid Prime (GameCube)
Metroid Fusion (GameBoy Advance)

Power Bombs are powerful explosives similar to the Smart Bomb in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Players can pick the Power Bomb up and toss it at their opponents to set it off, or simply let it sit for 10 seconds. When a Power Bomb explodes, it has a blast radius in similar size to a Smart Bomb, but a Power Bomb has the capability of sucking nearby players into when it explodes. It also doesn't explode right away, as there's a brief moment of delay as its energy builds up in a field of light and electricity before the actual explosion occurs.
