The Demon Launcher (also called the Devil Launcher) is a type of heavy weapon that is given to any losing player in Star Fox Assault's Versus Mode. It is unlocked as a usable weapon by playing 170 Versus matches.
Just like the Homing Launcher, it has an auto lock on feature and predator rockets. There are only 3 rockets, but they can achieve a one hit kill, unless the target is inside a vehicle. It has also been dubbed "The Loser Gun" or "Pity Weapon" by players, because it's given to the player that's losing.
Works:
Star Fox: Assault (GameCube)

How It's Used
|
The Demon Launcher is a very powerful weapon that can only be picked up by players in last place. In 1-Player Modes like Storyline Mode, this item can still appear and be picked up by the player but only appears very rarely. Unlike in Star Fox: Assault, in Super Smash Bros., this weapon only has one shot available. When fired, the rocket will home in on any other player or enemy on the screen and propel itself straight to them to cause massive damage and knockback. The projectile is able to travel to its target through the foreground, so walls and other obstacles do not effect its trajectory. Its blast radius is also very large and will cause 45%-60% damage on its primary target and 10%-25% damage to any other nearby opponents. The shooter cannot be hurt by the Demon Launcher.
