Hatsune Miku
Updated - August 16, 2011

When Hatsune Miku was designed by manga artist Kei for the Vocaloid line of software, all that was known was that she would share the same colors the YAMAHA synthesizer had, and those were blue and green. From here, Kei designed a sixteen-year old girl, and once she was released as the first ever Vocaloid singer, fans marked her with a cutesy personality and an affiliation for leeks. Over the few years Miku has been around, she has become extremely popular, spawning several video games and music albums based around her character. She's even performed live before, though whether this is done through a three-dimensional hologram or through a 2D transparent screen is currently unknown. Most recently, Miku has become increasingly popular worldwide, providing North America with the first-ever full English Vocaloid girls. Each one of her attacks in "Super Smash Bros. Mercurious: Jonno Edition" are named and based off of her hit songs.

General Information
Offense: 2/10 Origin: Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku
Defense: 4/10 Release Date: August 31, 2007
Projectile: 9/10 Home Stage: Vocaloid: World Tour
Weight: 3/10 Taunt Up: Miku tosses her leek into the air, one arm extended, and looks up at it with a happy face stapled on as she switches arms and catches it with the other; afterwards performing a quick three-sixty spin on one foot and returning to her battle position with a light giggle.
Speed: 7/10 Taunt Down: Miku leans forward in a pose similar to Zelda's down taunt in Super Smash Bros. Brawly, extending her microphone outwards and holding her face as close to it as possible. From here, she'll sing out a couple of notes from one of her hit songs before returning to her typical semi-laid-back battle stance.
Recovery: 4/10 Taunt Side: Miku sits down and folds both legs under her body, placing her hands on her knees in a respectful manner. Looking up towards her opponents, she'll let a quickly-spoken "Genki desu ka?" out of her mouth, asking them "How are you?" in a caring way. It's questionable as to what Miku's intentions are here, as she is fighting these people and all, though one can only assume that it's a reference back to her days as a music program's mascot.
Throwing Ability: 8/10 Entrance: Once the countdown begins, Miku will already be on stage, albeit in a completely still, robotic stance. By the two second mark, a few hums will be heard in swift succession, with each hum being a note above the last. Written musical notes of many different shapes and colors can be seen coming from Miku's lips as she hums, and after she's finished humming by the one second mark, she'll suddenly jump up and realize she's in battle. Once in her battle stance, she'll exclaim, "Ii yo!" - Japanese for "I'm ready!"
Final Smash: 9/10 Kirby Hat: When he absorbs Miku's power, Kirby will get his very own head of long green vocaloid hair and a pair of headphones with stars on them-- don't go thinking these are Miku's stars, however! These are unique to the pink puffball.

Standard Special: PoPiPo
(6%-12%)
Miku leans forward, though not to the same extent as with her down taunt, and takes out a silver microphone with a black base that attaches itself to her over-sized headphones as an extension. While in this pose, she'll occasionally brush down the side of her dress or the back of her hair as they lift up slightly or gets a bit in the way, respectively. After about a fourth of a second's start-up time, Miku will turn the microphone on, signaling her headphones which will then start to translucently glow several different light-toned colors. The energy found in her headphones will then transfer into the microphone, allowing her voice to echo throughout the stage as she sings a simple but sweet melody along the lines of "Po... Pi... Po..." Each note will be signified by set of katakana relating to what Miku is saying. In essence, when she says "po," the symbols that read "po" will come from out of the microphone's base and start to float on in an upwards arc set anywhere between forty-five and eighty-nine degrees; and when she says "pi," the symbols respective to "pi" would appear. It should be noted that each set of katakana deals 6% - 12% damage per attack depending on the "style" given to it (this is tapped upon later in the description), though sometimes carry status ailments such as poison and electricity with them to make them a bit more potent. Each status effect only deals the amount of damage that they typically would through items, though some effects such as electricity and sleep may be given extra potency through an extended stun and drowsy periods, respectively. Furthermore, poison may last two or three seconds longer and the super rare near-instant-KO effect may be given a little more "BAM!" The attack on the overall isn't much, but can be found quite useful when caught in sticky situations in which you find yourself trapped; plus, it could serve as a useful and speedy close-ranged attack. Each katakana is a different color and is either normal, bold, underlined, or italicized depending on how Miku decides to embellish each note. Another interesting thing to take note of: each of the katakana will float faster or slower depending on the style attributed to it. Bold ones will move slower due to their girth, italicized ones will move fastest, and underlined ones will be somewhere in between-- more or less than un-coded, regular ones. Once the special attack button isn't being held anymore, Miku may make a cutesy wink towards her opponent, taunting them, with a little giggle included for added "adorable-ness."
Side Special: BlackRock Shooter
(6%-25%)
Miku shoves a hand into a clearly - invisible - pocket in her shirt and takes out a thin, plastic rod similar in both size and shape to a typical drinking straw. Upon pressing and/or holding the special attack button and either one of the side buttons on the directional pad or the control stick, Miku will place her mouth onto the back-end of the rod and begin to inhale with all of her might. She can take in air for as long as two and a half seconds (though at this point her cheeks would be much larger and rounder and extremely red-blushed in the usual "anime" fashion), and depending on how long she inhales, she'll release one to five pitch black steel balls about the size of Kirby's standard attack "A" hitbox (aka, a singular punch from the pink puffball himself). Each steel ball flies outwards from the straw with surprisingly quick-paced agility, and when they hit opponents, they sure do pack a punch! One of two things will occur upon a steel ball hitting an opponent. The first possible result is rather simple, and sees the ball smacking into the other fighter with great power, dealing anywhere between 7% and 11% damage to them depending on certain aspects including but not limited to how fast the ball traveled and how long Miku held her breath in. One might assume that this is because each ball is, in all actuality, a different weight, thus resulting in more or less damage. This is mildly surprising if only for the fact that each ball moves at the same speed. Every once in a while, the ball will explode upon contact, revealing itself to be either a fiery bomb or a stun device of sorts. The bomb would deal up to 25% damage with massive knockback while the stunning item would deal about 15% with no knockback but a dazed effect that could end up lasting for up to five seconds depending on how much damage the opponent has at the time. If the rocks of sorts don't hit anyone or anything within up to eight Kirby's in length, once again depending on how long Miku has held her breath, they'll simply disintegrate into pure nothingness, almost as if Miku had never even summoned the BlackRock Shooter in the first place! It should also be noted that during the start-up of this attack, Miku is immune to flinching due to a temporary super armor effect that disappears as soon as she starts inhaling.
Up Special: Stargazer
(13%)
Miku looks up to the sky for a brief moment, long green pigtails gently swaying to and fro in an apparent breeze. Evidently, stars can be seen in the sky, even during the day! This strange assessment can be confirmed upon seeing Miku's Stargazer up special in its full form; shortly after staring up into the sky, and I do mean a moment as this is Smash and its pretty fast paced, meaning that its only about a fifth of a second or so that she's staring upwards with a blank look on her face, a boldly-outlined star comes crashing down from out of the distance, dealing a good 13% damage with just as good knockback to anyone hit by it. The fact that it's only a good Kirby or so in length and width is a plus for opponents, one might suppose. Once the star lands abruptly in such a way, Miku will jump onto it and giggle, smiling in a taunting way towards any opponents that were hit. The star will then commence into performing a task that most would find rather obvious, and that'd be carrying Miku up and allowing her to move freely about at a Pit's up special-based pace, making it, of course, very closely related to the before-mentioned up special. After a good five or six seconds, the star will disappear in a quick "poof" cloud of sorts, expected wheezy sound effect and all. If this attack is used in mid-air, the star crashing animation will be lost and Miku will simply be able to use the special as a super-good recovery rather than an over-done hit and run technique. It's also possible that the crash start-up won't occur. In fact, it'll only occur every once in a while so as to stop over use! Another thing to note is that Miku is entirely hittable while in the flight phase of this special, so as to keep things balanced. If she's knocked off so suddenly however, the overall surprise may even cause her fragile self to flinch for a moment, rendering her useless in mid-air! One has to be careful with this move. Very careful.
Down Special: Nebula
(10%)
Miku extends a single hand outward, all fingers spread out as if she were preparing to wave "hello" or "goodbye" to someone, even though the hand is held in a stationary stance rather than a moving one. A quick moment later, she'll spin around three-hundred and sixty degrees, though in a much less graceful manner than her up taunt as she's moving on both feet and lightly clacking her shoes against the ground in the process. As she moves her hand throughout the air, a certain amount of "pixie dust" will find itself pouring out of her finger tips as if she was some sort of magician! Fear not, however, because she truly isn't a magician. Not at all actually- we all know Miku's nothing more than an amazing piece of technology made to entertain the masses. Regardless, this move in itself - is - magic as it summons the powers of space itself so that Miku may be given one of several techniques upon contact with the dust. The first possible use of Nebula is a simple yet effective one in which a multi-colored barrier similar to a basic shield forms itself around her. The only difference is that she can still be hit by physical attacks, and that projectile attacks will not just be blocked but reflected back towards opponents at two times the original speed. The second possible use of Nebula is the exact opposite of the first, blocking all physical attacks and flipping them back towards opponents but not projectile attacks. The third and final possible use sees the barrier being used as a more mobile object, having it propel around Miku at a somewhat swift speed so that she may be "free" from attacks so long as it obstructs adversaries' paths, dealing a good 10% damage should they be hit by the shield. Now, it wouldn't be all-too-fair if there was no indication of what type of Nebula barrier was being brought up ahead of time now would it? Well my good friend there just so happens to be such a thing! First off, Miku's hand position and pre-attack grunt will change slightly upon whichever Nebula barrier would be used. Secondly, each barrier comes in a different set of colors. The first tends to use more dark and dull tones than the second, which relies on soft and light colors, and the third is loud and proud- being bright and... in charge. Or something. Of course there is some sort of solution here so that way this move can't be god-modded or spammed in a way, and that solution is a five - ten second pause between each usage of the attack depending on which barrier was summoned last. If it was the second, hey, it'll be just about five. First? Probably between 6 and 10-- it's a wildcard like that. Third? Probably between 7 and 8. If there is an attempt at using this attack during downtime, Miku will simply shake her head back and forth and say "iie," -- "no." Not only will this provide a completely useless "attack," but it'll also give opponents a good second or so to hit Miku; so watch out!
Final Smash Palette World Breakdown
(18%)
Miku gazes straight out beyond the screen and to the players who are controlling her and the other characters fighting at the moment and clasps both of her hands around her microphone extension, winking towards her controller with an anime-esque pink heart appearing beside her eye as its lid presses up against her skin and back. Her mouth is also wide open with a huge smile, letting out a little giggle as she winks. Right after what's essentially her start-up sequence for her final smash is complete - within a little lesson than a second, actually - Miku will begin to sing a few notes from one of her hit songs, "Palette World Breakdown," Capella style. The player must continue to press the special attack button to the beat of the song so that she may keep on singing. The song starts out relatively mildly once you start pressing the special attack button but builds up in intensity as it goes. As the song continues on and on, neon strobe lights will start to flurry to and fro through the field, just as if it were a real Miku concert! Any opponent within ten Donkey Kongs of Miku should be scared when this attack commences, because once it reaches its fullest intensity within two or three seconds, great globs of solid color paint will start to be thrown onto the stage by some unknown entity, covering practically the entire aforementioned perimeter in sludge! If the paint hits an opponent while its being tossed onto the stage, it'll deal a whopping eighteen percent damage with pretty high knockback! Who knew paint could be so lethal to the touch!? When the paint settles down onto the stage, it'll manage to get everything and anything but Miku covered in it, making them rather slippery to touch or to be on. Miku herself can run about freely once the paint is set on the stage, and she can attack her opponents while they're too busy slipping all over themselves! Even assist trophies and Pokemon will be affected by the paint in a way. If they're moving assistants, then you can bet they're gonna be sliding about quite a bit! If they're stationary, then nothing beyond a little color palette change will be in order, but regardless it'll be an amazing show for Miku's fans, who will be clapping and cheering throughout the entirety of her mini-performance right down until the paint fades away after about eight or nine seconds. "MIKU! MIKU!" fanfare is essentially what you'll be hearing, alongside quite a bit of clapping. This isn't the same as the fanfare you'd hear from the Smash audience, however. A whole new sound-clip has been created for this attack only!
