Black Mage

Black Mages wear outfits similar to classic wizards, consisting of blue robes and pointy hats, usually yellow or brown. Their faces are not visible in the shade of their hats, except for their eyes which shine brightly. A Black Mage's primary ability is to cast Black Magic, which usually consists of attack spells, but also contains some effect spells. In later installments, Black Mages were given the Focus ability, which allowed them to store power for the next turn. However, their magic is their main focus. In this, Black Mages are one of the simplest, but most effective Jobs there is. Black Mages usually equip magical rods and staffs, but also sometimes daggers. Their armor is limited to lightweight vests and mage robes. Black Mages, as with most mages, have high magical stats but low HP and defenses.

Attack Details
Standard Special:
Aero (3%-16%) |
The Black Mage summons a brief storm of wind around itself that can reflect projectiles instantly and whip opponents around causing repeated damage to them in classic combo fashion. By charging the attack up, Aero can cause lift to the Black Mage and effect airbourne opponents as well as it creates a larger tornado. |
Side Special:
Osmose (5%) |
The Black Mage will fire an orb of light energy from its hand that will slowly travel forwards. If the orb touches an opponent, it'll steal 5 health from them and store it in the orb before making its way back to the Black Mage. Upon touching the Black Mage again, it'll give the energy to it, healing it in the process. The orb can be destroyed by other attacks as well. |
Up Special:
Warp (0%) |
The Black Mage will instantly disappear and reappear a great distance from its original position. The warp cannot travel through walls or floors and does not cause any damage. This is a multi-directional recovery, and will follow the direction of the Control Stick. |
Down Special:
Meteor (7%-18%) |
The Black Mage will cast a growing boulder over its head. The longer the attack is charged, the larger the boulder will get. After releasing the attack, the meteor will travel diagonally in front of the Black Mage and shatter upon impact with the ground or a player, causing damage in that case. |
Final Smash
Ultima (10%-65%) |
The Black Mage will cast a very powerful spell with this attack, affecting all opponents on the screen for a large amount of damage. The damage output depends on the opponent's distance from the mage. The closer the player, the more damage they take. This attack is also very quickly executed. |
