Akari Hayami

19 years young and born in Kobe, Japan, Akari has a gentle character. She doesn't mind congratulating others with their victories, and she even encourages them. Because she isn't very big, she can get a bit upset if people treat her too rough. It is said that she beat Ricky Winterborn in a half-pipe-competition, but Ricky denies it. Akari prefers top 40's hits, but from time to time you can hear punk blowing from her car speakers too.
In Super Smash Bros., her weapon of choice is her snowboard itself. She'll use it as a bludgeoning weapon similar to Dedede's Hammer, or Link's Master Sword. In the air, instead of swinging her board, she'll perform aerial tricks as attacks. When grabbing, she'll plant it into the ground along side herself and can use it to assist some of her throws by slamming her opponents with it.

Attack Details
Standard Special:
Snowball (2%-9%) |
Akari packs snow together quickly and lobs it forward. The longer this attack is charged, the more snow she uses to build her projectile, but the shorter her toss becomes in the process. If enough snow is used, Akari can trap her opponents in a pile of snow, slowing them down and forcing them to break free. This gives her the opportunity to follow up with an additional attack. |
Side Special:
Frost Wind (1%-5%) |
Akari swings her snowboard out in front of herself, causing a cold wind to blow and pushing opponents away gently. The wind is freezing cold and can freeze her targets in solid ice temporarily. The longer Akari charges up her swing, the farther and stronger the wind will travel. |
Up Special:
1080° Spin (3%-14%) |
Akari hops on her snowboard and spins 1080 degrees, causing an updraft to propel her into the sky. This attack can help her recover a great distance vertically, and she can attack opponents repeatedly with her spinning board. |
Down Special:
Icicle Patch (2%-5%) |
Akari slams her snowboard into the ground which causes a small patch of icicles to appear in its targeted area. These icicles will damage any opponents immediately who touch them, but they will melt after 6-8 seconds. |
Final Smash
Avalanche (10%-30%) |
A large stream of snow will sweep across the stage in line with where ever Akari is standing upon beginning this attack. When the snow reach Akari, she'll hop on her snowboard and begin shreddin' the slope at the front of it and ride it off screen, reappearing at the top of the screen afterwards and falling back to the stage at the point she started the attack. The avalanche can easily sweep opponents off the screen with it, but with a well-timed jump over the snow itself, they can simply avoid it for the most part. |
