Scorpion is the code-name adopted by the former Hanzo Hasashi of the Shirai Ryu clan. In the Mortal Kombat games, Scorpion is one of the most popular and reoccurring characters, and in the story, he lived his life as an assassin, having a rivalry with Sub-Zero and his clan in life. In death, he was revived as a powerful specter with Hellfire-based abilities, seeking vengeance on those who killed his clan and his family. He is generally neutral, usually working either unwillingly for the villains or with the heroes for his own ends, and is a fan favorite “anti-hero”.

Special Moves
Attack Name Damage Details
Standard Special   Fire Breath 5% - 15%   Scorpion pulls his mask back and breathes fire in a constant stream, about as wide as Mario’s Fireballs and as long as 2 and ˝ Stage Builder blocks, in front of himself for about 3 seconds, stunning close-by opponents and racking up some damage.
Side Special   Kunai Spear 5% - 10%   Scorpion shoots out his spear on a line directly straight forward for about 4 Stage Builder blocks before it either stops and comes back to him or it latches into an opponent. Scorpion then reels the opponent to himself and then can follow up with any other attack to detach the opponent from his spear. This move can also be used as a tether recovery.
Up Special   Teleporting Punch 10% - 12%   Scorpion teleports either directly upward, diagonally upward left or right, or straight forward for about 3 jumps or Stage Builder blocks, depending on the tilt of the control stick, and immediately punches straight forward with flames surrounding his fist after he reappears.
Down Special   Flaming Backflip Kick 5% - 9%   Scorpion flips up into the air, then comes down with a fiery kick. On the ground, he slides forward with this move, and in the air, he descends diagonally downward.
Final Smash   Hand From Hell 25% - 60%   Scorpion raises his hand upward and a fiery hand about half the size of Master Hand rises from the ground right in front of him and then grabs hold onto whoever was there. If nobody was there, the hand descends back into the ground and disappears. If somebody was there, the hand grabs tightly for about 5 seconds, dealing heavy fire damage, then throws the opponent upward and disappears as Scorpion pulls off his mask and performs a 5-second version of his Fire Breath attack on the opponent before putting his mask back on and doing a roundhouse kick to spike the opponent away as Dan Forden appears in the corner of the screen and shouts “Toasty!” before quickly disappearing off of the screen.
