Batafire is a midboss designed as a large fireball with bat wings and a cat face. Batafire's main body has a radius equal to that of two Kirbys standing next to eachother. If Kirby could get to Batafire fast enough after defeating him he could suck him up and obtain the Burning ability, otherwise Batafire would explode.

Attack #1:

Burning Dive
(Easy-Intense) |
Batafire will dive down towards his opponent trying to hit them with his burning body. Getting hit by this attack can deal between 7%-13% damage will a fair amount of knockback. This attack is used on all difficulties and on Hard-Intense difficulty it has the added effect of creating a trail of fire on the stage where Batafire dived down to attack that will remain in place for an additional 5 seconds. This fire can deal between 4%-6% for every second spent in it.

Fireball Spit

At times during the fight Batafire will stop flying around and will fold its wings over its body for a second before opening them up and spitting out several fireballs from it's mouth. The number of fireballs depends on the difficulty. Medium - 4, Hard - 7, - Very Hard - 10, Intense - 15. These fireballs are launched downward from Batafire in varying degrees. In all difficulties the damage from the fireballs remains the same at 5%-9% damage. Fireballs are about the size of the Hothead item. Starting from difficulty Hard, these fireballs will leave a patch of fire where the fireball hit the stage for 5 seconds just like the trail of fire from the Burning Dive attack. These patches of fire deal the same amount of damage at 4%-6% of damage per second.
