Tourian Statue
Updated - May 28, 2010

Tourian Statue made a minor appearance in Super Metroid. It was a gold statue made of the four main bosses of Super Metroid: Kraid, Phantoon, Draygon and Ridley. It appeared in a room in Crateria not far from the elevator to Brinstar's jungle area. The room it appeared in contained the statue and nothing else. When entering the room, Crateria's usual music will be replaced by a quieter, more sinister-sounding theme that plays nowhere else in the game. If Samus returned to the room after killing a boss, that boss' section on the statue will then turn grey. When all four bosses are killed and the statue turns completely grey, it will then sink through the floor, revealing the elevator to Tourian.

Fight Details
Before the fight against the boss starts, the camera will close up on the statue. The gold on the statue will then crumble away, revealing that the statue is actually robotic. The statue will then be completely dark blue instead of gold.
The boss is divided into four sections, one for each boss: Ridley (Top), Kraid (Left), Phantoon (Centre) and Draygon (Right). The boss' HP will also be divided equally between each of the sections. This means that each section will have 50HP (Easy-Medium), 100HP (Hard-Very Hard) or 125HP (Intense). When a section of the statue loses all HP, that section will turn grey and crumble to dust, preventing the statue from using any attacks that needed that section to perform them.
The boss' movement will differ depending on which sections are still intact. If the Ridley, Phantoon or Draygon sections are still intact, then the statue will fly around the stage. It will fly quicker if more sections are destroyed as they will no longer weigh the statue down. It will fly at the speed of a running Bowser if all sections are intact, Marth's running speed if three sections are intact, Fox's running speed if two are intact, and Captain Falcon's running speed if only one section is left intact. If only the Kraid section remains, it will only be able to walk at Bowser's walking speed.
The stage the statue is fought on is a flat stage, the same length as the stages the player fought Galleom in Subspace Emissary. The ground is covered in various kinds of vegetation that have no effect on gameplay. There are many stalagmites and stalactites in the background, implying that the battle itself is taking place inside some kind of cavern.
Attacks
Attack #1: Ridley Fireball (Easy-Intense) The Ridley section of the statue will fire three fireballs from its mouth. They will travel in a straight toward the location the player was when Ridley fired them. They will do 5%-15% damage each, depending on the difficulty, meaning a total of 15%-45% if the player is hit by all three. The player will suffer the same knock back as Snake's Nikita on all difficulty. The player has a chance to prepare for this attack, as the Ridley section will rear its head back for a second before firing. This attack will become unavailable once the Ridley section is destroyed.
Attack #2: Kraid Spike (Easy-Intense) The Kraid section of the statue will fire a spike from its stomach. The spike will be same height as Link's arrows and half the length as one of Battlefield's platforms. It will travel in a straight line at the same speed as Samus' uncharged Charge Shot. The spike will deal 10%-40% damage and large knock back if the front of it hits the character and 5%-25% with medium knockback if the player touches it anywhere else, depending on the difficulty. The spike will disappear after if touches a character. If it does not touch a character, it will continue to travel until it leaves the stage. This attack will become unavailable if the Kraid section is destroyed.
Attack #3: Phantoon Fire Whip (Easy-Intense) The Phantoon section will create a a whip of blue fire from its eye and will proceed to swing it around the stage. It will be the length of five stage builder blocks if it were to be laid out completely straight completely straight, and the fire itself will be the same height as Jigglypuff. If will take the whip two seconds to appear completely from the eye. The statue will swing the whip around in circles for six seconds before it disappears. Being hit by the whip will deal 7%-35% damage and mild knock back, depending on the difficulty. This attack will become unavailable if the Phantoon section is destroyed.
Attack #4: Draygon Grab (Easy-Intense) The statue will swoop in toward the player, and the Draygon section will grab the player if it is successful. The statue will then quickly descend to the ground, dealing 15%-45% damage and large knock back. On Intense difficulty, the knock back will be even larger, just slightly less knock back than Ganondorf's Final Smash. The speed the statue will fly toward the player will be slightly faster than its normal flying speed. This means that destroying other sections of the statue first will mean that it will be easier for the statue to use this attack. To give the player a chance to avoid this attack, Draygon's eye will glow brightly for a second before the statue attempts this attack. This attack will become unavailable if the Draygon section is destroyed.
Attack #5: Crush (Very Hard-Intense) The statue will fly off the top of the screen and will then descend at an incredible speed. The speed of the statue's descent will decrease if any sections are already destroyed. If all four sections are intact, the statue will descend at the speed of Sonic running. It will descend at Captain Falcon's running speed if three sections are intact, Fox's running speed if two sections remain and Mario's running speed if only one section remains. The reason this attack is only used on Very Hard and Intense is because being hit by this attack will instantly crush the player, making them lose a life. This attack can not be used if Kraid is the only remaining section, due the fact that the Kraid section can not fly.
