Lugia
Updated - September 11, 2010

Lugia is a legendary Pokemon that lives below the ocean. Being a legendary Pokemon, it is very elusive and hard to capture. They are often seen around the Whirl Islands in the Johto Region. Unlike other legendary species, Lugia seem to have a breeding population (be able to have offspring), but this is only shown in the anime, and there is no evidence in the games to prove this. They have the power to quell vicious storms, or even create one. Because they possess incredible power, they prefer to stay isolated from civilized areas and humans.

Fight Details
Lugia will fly above the stage, making it a easy target. This is the time to strike. After waiting for a certain amount of time, Lugia will perform one of it's 4 attacks. This battle is very basic, and would be very similar to the battle with Master Hand. When Lugia is defeated, a cutscene will play, that has Lugia getting hit by a explosion. It will then grunt in pain, and splash down into the water below.
Attacks
Attack #1: Aeroblast
(Easy-Intense)
Lugia's signature attack. Lugia will fly to one end of the stage, then with a flap of it's wings, unleashes a strong gust of wind that deals minimal damage (4-6%), but very high knockback and an almost unavoidable KO. The attack takes 2-3 seconds to charge, giving the battlers time to get to a safe area.
Attack #2: Whirlwind
(Easy-Intense)
Lugia stirs up a tornado that sweeps across the stage, and if any battlers are caught in it's path they are thrown spriraling up into the air, then crash into the ground. This attack deals 20-25% damage from hitting the ground and 2-3% damage every second the battlers are stuck in the tornado. On higher difficulties, the tornado is larger, and thus harder to avoid.
Attack #3: Hydro Pump
(Normal-Intense)
Lugia will tilt it's head back. You will see flashes of blue splashing out of Lugia's mouth as it charges it's attack for about 3 seconds. It will then release a long, and powerful stream of water that could be as wide as 1-3 Kirby's, depending on difficulty. It deals about 10%-22% damage if you are hit, depending on difficulty. It is easy to see coming, so you should have no problem trying to stay out of the line of fire! Of course, on higher difficulty's, Lugia fires it faster!
Attack #4: Recover
(Intense)
Very rarely, Lugia will use Recover. It will look up to the sky, grunt in pain, as a rainbow of energy washes over it. It will be healed for 100% damage. Lugia will never use this attack unless it has 150% health or less left. This is arguably the most annoying move Lugia has at it's arsenal.
