The Leechgrave is a boss that appeared in Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS. It appears as a giant, spider-like plant with a coffin hanging beneath it, with the Heartless emblem appearing emblazoned on the coffin, signifying that the Leechgrave itself is a Heartless. The Tentaclaws are connected to it. The Leechgrave appeared in the world of Halloweentown – which is based upon the film, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” – during Mission #66. The Leechgrave can spew toxic poison from its head, which saps the health of the player. The Tentaclaws can be defeated in order to dizzy the giant plant, but defeating the Tentaclaws increase the frequency of the pollen bursts – a double-edged sword.

Fight Details
The Leechgrave is fought in an arena with a theme similar to the Halloweentown arena where it is fought in its source game. However, in Smash Bros, the Leechgrave will merely sit in the centre of the platform which is about as wide as Smashville in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. However, the fight has a sense of urgency, as the Leechgrave is constantly releasing poisonous pollen into the air, which will consistently add 1% damage onto the players’ damage count whenever they are airborne.

Attacks
Attack #1:
Poison Mist (Normal-Intense) |
Leechgrave turns the coffin hanging under it around and sprays a poisonous liquid from a hole inside of it. If anyone makes contact with it, they will obtain a poisoned effect for 5 - 10 seconds depending on their damage level, being dealt 1% – 2% damage per second. If they are hit directly with the liquid, they will flinch, but the same poison effect will occur.

Attack #2:
Ghostly Hands (Hard-Intense) |
Leechgrave opens up the coffin hanging underneath itself, revealing ghostly hands that stretch themselves out two Ganondorf's in length. Once they reach full length, they will attempt to grab a single fighter. If they are successful, they will drag the unlucky fighter into the coffin. Afterwards the coffin will close up and hold them in for 2 seconds, dealing 5% damage every half-second, resulting in 20% damage total.

Attack #3:
Tentaclaws (Easy-Intense) |
The Leechgrave has four Tentaclaws that can be summoned at any point during the battle. They each have 40% health, and, once all four are destroyed, the Leechgrave will fall over, leaving it completely vulnerable to attack for about 5 seconds. After this, one Tentaclaw will respond at a time. The Tentaclaws can attack the player for 10% damage each, with a moderate knockback and stun. They attack with a biting motion. The Tentaclaws can also “eat” the player. This involves the player being “eaten”, chewed up, and spat back out for about 15%.
Attack #4:
Poison Spores (Easy-Intense) |
The Leechgrave will occasionally open up its coffin in order to fire a line of purple poison spores at the player. This attack looks remarkably similar to the Poison Mist attack, except instead of releasing a mist, the purple spores are fired at the player rapidly. When hit directly by the spores, the player takes the same poison effect, but is also given the “tripping” effect from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, rendering them useless for up to a second, which could leave plenty of time for the Leechgrave to attack again.
