The Pulse Bombu is a creature that consists entirely of raw electricity. It glows as it floats through the air. It periodically releases explosive segments from its body and lacks any intelligence other than an instinctive attraction to charged energy sources.
Samus encounters Pulse Bombus in the Chozo Ruins, Phendrana Drifts, and the Phazon Mines on Tallon IV. They pose no threat to her, though they will occasionally release explosive segments which will cause damage to her. They can only be damaged by electrical energy, requiring Samus to use her Wave Beam on them. However, if she charges her Wave Beam, due to their attraction to charged energy sources, they will instinctively go up to her, damaging her if they get too close. To prevent this, she simply has to avoid using the Charge Beam near them. There is a variant known as Scatter Bombu. There also an invisible Bombu. A robotic version created by the Luminoth is known as the Harmony Class Drone appears in Metroid Prime 2 and attacks the same way as a Pulse Bombu and is similar in appearence to them as well.
Atomics, creatures very similar to Pulse Bombus, appear in Super Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Assistance Description
|
When the Pulse Bombu appears, it raises about 3 Ganondorf heights into the air. It flies about the stage aimlessly, yet never deviating from it's set height in the air. It constantly drops energy bombs that do a reasonable 7%. The bombs have a two second delay before another is dropped, and they fall a little faster than Fox falls. The most dangerous part of the Pulse Bombu's attack is it's love of energy. If any energy of any kind (such as Mario's Fireballs) appears on the stage, it will move at about Mario's running speed directly at the object. It cannot move through walls, so this can render the Pulse Bombu harmless, for as long as the energy lasts, anyway. If the Pulse Bombu hits the source of the energy, it will instantly destroy it, as well as make it's own energy bombs stronger. If the Pulse Bombu tackles a player during it's insane rush for energy , it will do about 13%, and this attack can hurt the summoner of the Pulse Bombu. The Pulse Bombu can be led away from dealing harm to a player by launching an energy attack in the other direction and running, which is udeful if the Pulse Bombu has you caught in a small, closed enviroment. The Pulse Bombu regularly moves about as slow as Bowser walking.
