Assistance Description
Doc Louis will appear at stageside sitting down in a foldable chair. Like Mr. Resetti, Doc Louis cannot move along with a stage. If the stage moves to the point where Doc Louis cannot be seen, Doc will exlcaim "HEY! Get back here for more training!" before mumbling about how he can be alone with his chocolate and disappearing. However, should Doc Louis stay on-screen, he will keep pep talking his "rookie" (whoever summoned him) to victory. For each of Doc Louis's pep talks, he will raise the stats of the character who summoned him or lower the strength of one of his foes. The effects of Louis's pep talk last ten to fifteen seconds after he delivers it. After the effects wear off, Doc will take a bite out of his chocolate bar, laugh, and disappear. Doc can give the following pep talks:
For pep talks designed to break down specific foes, see "Doc Louis's Character-Specific Pep Talks".

Speech: "Alright, rookie, listen up. Competition's fierce out there, alright? What ya wanna do is keep dodgin' their shots, then fire back with your own! Good defense is the best offense, and what goes around comes around. You know how to knock 'em around, so bring 'em around to your fists and knock 'em dead!"
Effect: The character's shield is doubled in length and size. In addition, the character's dodging techniques are lengthened by 1.5 their normal amount. This is done by creating invincibility frames after the dodge.

Speech: "Whoo, I sure love chocolate! Y'know, everyone's got their own vice, mine just happens to be delicious creamy goodness. If ya find it, they should go down."
Effect: If any item/character/stage from an opponent's series is displayed, they will go down by two levels in all areas other than Final Smash.

Speech: "Live large and in charge, that's what I always say. Just remember, power's like a yo-yo - ya may go down, but you're comin' right back up."
Effect: The player is damaged by 20% and has their shield weakened by half. However, if they do not lose their stock for seven seconds, they will grow as if under the effects of a Super Mushroom for twelve seconds and will be healed of 60% damage.

Speech: "Yeah, champ! Join Club Nintendo today!"
Effect: The background of the stage is replaced with a massive Club Nintendo logo.
