Thoreau is the second of a variety of Pixls Mario and company encounter in the third Paper Mario outing and the first to be an action RPG, Super Paper Mario. He has the ability to grab opponents and have the player throw them as they please afterwards. It is rumored that Thoreau was named after famous American Henry David Thoreau; a man revered as an author, poet, naturalist, tax resister, surveyor, development critic, philosopher, historian, and leading transcendentalist.

Assistance Description
|
Thoreau acts as a 'third hand' if you will, picking up and throwing opponents, dealing 10% damage per throw. Since he isn't that strong on his own, Thoreau is limited to throwing foes in the simplest fashion: weakly and straight ahead. This and the fact that he can only pick up one opponent at a time makes him one of the more common assist trophies. After 8 seconds on stage, Thoreau will disappear.
