Kraid
Updated - August 21, 2011

A looming, green reptilian with the ability make entire places literally turn over with each step he takes, Kraid is a subordinate of Ridley, captain of the Space Pirate gang who killed Samus Aran's parents and everyone else she had grown to know and love aboard a space ship. Though he has no official rank, considering how prominent he is within the games, it can only be assumed that Kraid is a high-ranking pirate, perhaps acting as the brawn behind groups of his cronies during the siege of many a planet. Kraid only uses organic projectile weaponry, including boomerang-like, extremely sharp finger nails and three barbed spikes lodged into his stomach. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, he lives within the stage Brinstar Depths, which he turns in one of four compass directions with a singular slash of his claws every so often.

Assistance Description
When Kraid is summoned, he's already in the background of the stage, looming about, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike from what could even be miles away. Then, once he is fully prepared to perform an action sometime within the entire fifteen second window that he's around, he'll either shoot out all three of his spikes in quick succession, homing them in on the general direction of his summoner's opponents and dishing out an entirely generous 25% damage meal with some good knockback power off to the side for good measure, meaning that one player alone could suffer up to 75% damage, risking a knockout from just being struck by Kraid's three spikes themselves, or slash in the direction of the stage in a very similar way to how he processed in Melee, though instead of turning the stage on one of its four general sides, he'll toss his four boomerang-like, sharpened finger nails out in the direction of opponents once more, one set of two per slash of his hand, and see to it to have the nails deal some damage instead, dishing out around 11% per nail, meaning 44% total damage can be attained through all four nails slashing at a singular opponent. The nails are more-so used as a more common defense mechanism, incapacitating opponents but not necessarily entirely defeating them like the the spikes might. Unlike the spikes, the nails will return to Kraid, and he may be given the opportunity to use them one more time before return to the abyss from whence he came. On occasion, and depending on the stage, Kraid may act entirely like he did in Melee, tilting a stage in East, South, North, or West on his own whim, making sure to return it to its original state before disappearing. This attack function is only possible on certain stages, however. Stages without any potential escape routes, meaning that all players would have no chance but to just be tossed overboard due to the tilt mechanism, are not applicable to this change, and neither are any moving stages, vertical, horizontal, or otherwise.
