Topmaniac is a boss in the game Super Mario Galaxy. It resembles a red spinning top, and is the leader of the Topman tribe. It is fought twice, once in the Battlerock Galaxy and once in the Dreadnought Galaxy.
Topmaniac is simply a larger Topman. Most Topmen have spikes on their tops, but Topmaniac has spikes on its side and a flat top. It attacks Mario by spinning into him with its spikes and occasionally by jumping into him. It also has eyes on his front.
Topmaniac is fought in an arena surrounded by electric barriers. Mario must jump on top of Topmaniac, which knocks him out and causes his spikes to retract. Mario can then perform a Star Spin to knock Topmaniac into the electric barriers, which damages it and wakes it up. This must be repeated three times to defeat Topmaniac. Damaging Topmaniac also causes lesser Topmen to appear.

Assistance Description
|
Topmaniac will immediately begin spinning rapidly with its sharp spike exposed surrounding its body. It'll slowly move side to side as it spins like a top, but will move quickly for a brief moment if it hits a wall, obstacle, or an opponent. If Topmaniac hits an opponent, they'll take between 10%-14% damage and moderate knockback. Topmaniac will disappear after 15 seconds.
