Hammer Bros. (or Hammer Brothers) are a species of Koopa that stand upright and throw hammers at passers-by. They have been around since Super Mario Bros. They have bigger shells than normal Koopas and wear headgear. They can also use special hammers to shrink their enemies. Hammer Bros. have many times been described as the most elite fighters in Bowser's Koopa army. These enemies were originally designed by Kazuaki Morita.

Assistance Description
|
When the Hammer Bro. appears from the Assist Trophy, he'll act the same way as he does in the @D/2.5D Super Mario platforming games. He'll occassionally jump into the air a short distance every now and then continuously throwing hammers about once every second. He doesn't move around at all and unlike in the Mario games, jumping on him will not defeat him. He'll simply disappear after around 10 seconds.
